Chocolate Pudding Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups whole milk (or half-and-half for extra creaminess)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 tbsp cornstarch
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 oz semi-sweet chocolate, chopped (or ½ cup chocolate chips)
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter (for extra richness, optional)

Instructions:

  1. Mix Dry Ingredients:
    • In a medium saucepan, whisk together sugar, cocoa powder, cornstarch, and salt.
  2. Add Milk & Heat:
    • Slowly whisk in milk until smooth.
    • Place saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and starts to bubble (about 8-10 minutes).
  3. Add Chocolate & Flavoring:
    • Remove from heat and stir in chopped chocolate, vanilla extract, and butter until melted and smooth.
  4. Chill the Pudding:
    • Pour the pudding into serving dishes.
    • Cover with plastic wrap, pressing it directly onto the surface to prevent a skin from forming.
    • Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until set.
  5. Serve & Enjoy!
    • Garnish with whipped cream, chocolate shavings, or fresh berries before serving.
