
Ham and Cheese Puff Pastry Sticks

Ingredients:
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- ½ cup cooked ham, thinly sliced or chopped
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a mix)
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional, for extra flavor)
- ½ tsp dried thyme or oregano (optional)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Puff Pastry:
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. If desired, spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard over the pastry for extra flavor.
- Add Ham and Cheese:
- Sprinkle a generous layer of shredded cheese over half of the pastry.
- Arrange the ham slices or chopped ham over the cheese.
- Sprinkle with dried herbs (if using) for added flavor.
- Form the Sticks:
- Fold the other half of the puff pastry over the filling, pressing down lightly to seal.
- Slice the pastry into strips (about 1-inch wide).
- Bake:
- Place the pastry strips on a lined baking sheet.
- Beat the egg and brush it over the top of each stick to give them a golden finish.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes until puffed and golden brown.

- Serve warm as a snack or appetizer with a side of mustard or dipping sauce.
