
Polish Sausage, Sauerkraut, and Potatoes (Crockpot Recipe)

Ingredients:
- 1 ½ lbs Polish kielbasa (sliced into 2-inch pieces)
- 4 medium potatoes (peeled & cubed)
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 3 cups sauerkraut, drained & rinsed (adjust to taste)
- 1 cup chicken broth (or beer for extra flavor)
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (optional, adds depth)
- 1 teaspoon caraway seeds (optional, enhances flavor)
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons butter (for richness)
Instructions:
1. Prep the Ingredients
- Rinse and drain sauerkraut (optional).
- Chop the onion and potatoes into bite-sized pieces.
- Slice the kielbasa into 2-inch chunks.
2. Layer in the Crockpot
- Add potatoes and onion to the bottom of the slow cooker.
- Layer the sauerkraut on top.
- Sprinkle with caraway seeds, garlic powder, and black pepper.
- Place the kielbasa on top.
- Pour in the chicken broth (or beer) and add Dijon mustard.
- Top with butter (optional).
3. Cook
- Low: 6-8 hours for best flavor.
- For quick cooking, use high heat for 3-4 hours.
