Polish Sausage, Sauerkraut, and Potatoes (Crockpot Recipe)

This hearty Polish dish features juicy kielbasa, tangy sauerkraut, and tender potatoes, slow-cooked to perfection. It’s an easy, comforting meal perfect for busy days!

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ lbs Polish kielbasa (sliced into 2-inch pieces)
  • 4 medium potatoes (peeled & cubed)
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 3 cups sauerkraut, drained & rinsed (adjust to taste)
  • 1 cup chicken broth (or beer for extra flavor)
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (optional, adds depth)
  • 1 teaspoon caraway seeds (optional, enhances flavor)
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons butter (for richness)

Instructions:

1. Prep the Ingredients

  • Rinse and drain sauerkraut (optional).
  • Chop the onion and potatoes into bite-sized pieces.
  • Slice the kielbasa into 2-inch chunks.

2. Layer in the Crockpot

  1. Add potatoes and onion to the bottom of the slow cooker.
  2. Layer the sauerkraut on top.
  3. Sprinkle with caraway seeds, garlic powder, and black pepper.
  4. Place the kielbasa on top.
  5. Pour in the chicken broth (or beer) and add Dijon mustard.
