Ingredients:
For the Sausages & Mash:
- 6 pork sausages
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 4 large potatoes, peeled and chopped
- ¼ cup (60ml) milk
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
For the Onion Gravy:
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1 cup (240ml) beef stock
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
1. Cook the Sausages:
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add the sausages and cook for 12-15 minutes, turning occasionally until browned and cooked through.
2. Make the Mashed Potatoes:
- Boil potatoes in salted water for 15 minutes or until fork-tender.
- Drain and mash with butter, milk, salt, and pepper until smooth and creamy.
3. Prepare the Onion Gravy:
- In a pan, melt butter over medium heat and cook the onions until soft and caramelized (about 8 minutes).
- Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute.
- Gradually add beef stock, stirring constantly, then add Worcestershire sauce. Simmer for 5 minutes until thickened.
4. Serve & Enjoy:
- Plate the mashed potatoes, top with sausages, and pour over the onion gravy.
