Banana Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

Ingredients:
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
- ½ cup brown sugar, packed
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 ripe banana, mashed
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat & Prepare Baking Sheets
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. - Mix Dry Ingredients
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside. - Cream Butter & Sugar
In a large bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes). - Add Wet Ingredients
Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and mashed banana until well combined. - Combine Dry and Wet Ingredients
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. - Stir in Chocolate Chips & Nuts
Fold in chocolate chips and optional nuts. - Scoop & Bake
Drop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are golden and the center is set. - Cool & Enjoy!
Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
